One-Call Study Commission Draft Report
The Alabama One-Call Study Commission (AOCSC) was established to develop a report on the expedience and validity of having a single One-Call notification system to serve the entire State of Alabama, including the appropriate governance, legislative oversight, and membership outreach practices of the organization; the adequacy of the enforcement provisions of current law; and other items related to the One-Call Law that may increase the level of safety of its citizens.

OSHA Delays Silica Rule for Construction Industry:
OSHA has issued a memorandum indicating a delay of enforcement for the Crystalline Silica Standard for Construction (29 CFR 1926.1153) until September 23, 2017. The standard's requirements were to be in effect beginning June 23, 2017.

Senate votes to Overturn OSHA Recordkeeping Changes:
The U.S. Senate has voted 50-48 to overturn an OSHA recordkeeping rule that was passed during the Obama administration and took effect in January. Earlier this month the House of Representatives voted 231 to 191 to block the rule. It will now cross the desk of President Donald Trump, who is expected to sign it.
